Destined Book-2 Chapter-4 To Save a Life

I held my arms in the position you would hold a ball in and started to focus my energy while forming a ball between my hands. At the sight of the ball, the camera man jumped back two feet and stared in shock before filming me. I just kept my focus on the ball rapidly growing between my hands with energy. I then turned my palms to face away from me to each side, causing the ball to expand to cover both me and the boy. I had to move quickly or he would die from either his heart failure or my intense energy field. When the field fully covered the boy, the electrical energy from inside the field shot from the walls into both me and the boy. The zaps of electrical current acted just like a cauterizer and sealed most of the minor cuts causing most of the bleeding to stop. I put my hand on his chest, closed my eyes, and remained perfectly still until I felt his breathing and pulse. I had done something that no warrior had ever done before. I saved the boy with my energy.

“It worked! His heart is beating again! I did it!” I yelled happily but exhausted.

“The van is here. Let’s move him.” The cameraman said turning off his camera.

As we were loading into the news van, I stopped to pick up my swords and put them back into their sheaths. I tapped a hidden button on the side of each sheath and cloaked them before going back to helping the boy.

“How is he?” The broadcaster asked.

“He’s ok for now, but a few minutes ago, he was in full arrest. I managed to bring him back, but I’m not sure how long either of us will last.” I said before collapsing in the van and fainting.

When I woke up, I was in a hospital room.

“Where am I?” I asked groggily.

“You’re in a visiting room. You used an extreme amount of your energy when you helped this boy. But I think that there’s more that happened today that required most of that energy. Am I right?” A doctor asked walking into the room.

“Yes, I was in Omega City when it fell today. I was one of the only two survivors of the attack.” I answered sadly.

“Well, you should recover your energy before you do anything else. Stay here for as long as you need until your ready to go. Everything has been paid for, for you. If you need anything, just press this button on the bedside to call a free nurse to help you. Good day Mr. Strongheart.” The doctor said leaving the room.

“Who paid for me to stay here, and why would anyone care? I’ll just have to wait and see.” I said going back to sleep.
